Today, I brought the goods: the soundtrack to the 1984 Canadian film "Heavenly Bodies." This masterpiece of 80s cheesy goodness chronicles one popular craze of the time - "dancersizing." Yes, you knew at one point they had to make a movie about it (though one could say Flashdance beat them to it a year earlier). In the film, the dance studio (called "Heavenly Bodies") is threatened to be shut down by the owner of a rival studio, unless....you guessed it....they can beat them in a dance-off. Now in case you're thinking at this point that this is some sort of belated April-Fools joke, here's the proof.
Now does that look radical or what? And if you're like me, the first thought that entered your mind after watching that was, "where can I find that awesome soundtrack?!" As it turns out, this was only released on cassette & vinyl back in the day, but can be found on CD as a Japanese import. I happened across a near-mint record today for a couple bucks, so that's what you call luck. I gave it a little clean-up and even added a bonus track. Rip this one on a cassette, pop it in your Walkman and start dancersizing!
