I had to add this movie to my "wanted list" after I found out about it: Tim Robbins & John Cusack as a couple of losers trying to make it big as music video directors, featuring a pile of cameos by 80s musicians? Count me in. The soundtrack mainly features the "Swanky Modes," a fictitious soul group in the film played by Sam Moore & Junior Walker. The album was released on CD but is becoming increasingly hard to find.
Tracks:
01. Swanky Modes - Ordinary Man
02. King Cotton - Roscoe's Rap
03. Bo Diddley - Surfer's Love Chant
04. Swanky Modes - You Hooked Me Baby
05. Swanky Modes - Betcher Bottom Dollar
06. Devo - Baby Doll (Sung in Swedish)
07. Fishbone - Slow Bus Movin' (Howard's Beach Party)
08. Swanky Modes - Audience for My Pain
09. Swanky Modes - Language of Love
10. Swanky Modes - Ordinary Man (Can't Keep a Good Man Down Mix)

ReplyDeleteThere's alot more songs featured in this movie as listed on imdb... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096223/soundtrack
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for this for literally years. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've given up trying to make "complete" versions since the extra tracks (if I can manage to find them) are usually crappy quality and don't sound good next to the CD-quality songs. Plus there are already other blogs out there dedicated to doing just that. Now I just try to keep the albums in the "original" format when I find them.
