Slaves of New York (1989)

"Delorean76" suggested this one on my last post, and even though it's not hard to find I had to pick it up on CD. This Merchant-Ivory film features some totally 90s jams so I thought I'd share it. Good suggestion!

1. Inner City - Good Life
2. Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers - Tumblin' Town
3. Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance
4. Maxi Priest - Some Guys Have All the Luck
5. Boy George - Girlfriend
6. Pil - Warrior
7. Ambitious Lovers - Admit It
8. Iggy Pop - Fall In Love With Me
9. Ambitious Lovers - Love Overlap
10. Les Rita Mitsouko - Tongue Dance

  1. thnx mate! I did a little searching and truth is the best song in the movie "Say hi to your guy" by Johannes Carlo is not included in the soundtrack. For those who remember the film it was the song that was being played live by a performance artist in a bathtub iside a club, A quite memorable and very funny scene. The scene has been taken down from youtube quite recently due to "copyright infringement"...

    Anyway, thnx 4 the upload...
an astonishing sonicflashback this blog of yours keep up the good work

  2. Perfect timing - just thawed out my DVD copy for a viewing (my first in fifteen years). This soundtrack is the only cassette I still own. Thanks for posting.

p.s. - This actually came out in early 1989.

  4. Loving this blog! So many brilliant movies/soundtracks. Didn't really know where to suggest soundtracks so I thought commenting on the last post would be best.
I recommend the "Iron Eagle" (1986) soundtrack. The theme by King Kobra is amazing. Aswell as loads of just as good 80s tracks.
