USA For Africa (1985) We Are the World

Harry Belafonte's concept for an American charity single based on the UK's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" resulted in "We Are The World," written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie and produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian. The album contained nine previously unreleased songs by other donating artists including "Tears Are Not Enough" - the charity single by the Canadian supergroup Northern Lights.

Interestingly enough, a single for "As the World Falls Down" was planned as well but never released. Oingo Boingo - The Soundtrack Collection

This is a collection I've been meaning to put together for some time to honor one of the greatest contributors to 80s movie soundtracks: Oingo Boingo! I thought this collection would be a lot of fun, especially since many of the songs aren't on any of their regular albums. In a few cases, the best way to get the songs was from one of their "greatest hits" compilations as a few of the soundtracks were only released on vinyl. I even threw in the two songs that Danny Elfman recorded during his solo days. For those reasons, the bit rate and sound quality of the songs differ a little, but I tried to find the best possible source for each song. And I apologize for leaving out one track "I Got To Be Entertained" from the 1981 film Long Shot, but it was unreleased and the only existing copies are sub-par quality. That and Forbidden Zone, which was technically before Oingo Boingo but still genius work. Now if we can only convince these guys to reunite...

Tracks:
1. Better Luck Next Time (Last American Virgin)
2. Ain't This the Life (Urgh! A Music War)
3. Goodbye, Goodbye (Fast Times at Ridgemont High)
4. Bachelor Party (Bachelor Party)
5. Something Isn't Right (Bachelor Party)
6. Wild Sex (In the Working Class) (Sixteen Candles)
7. Just Another Day (That Was Then...This Is Now)
8. Gratitude (Beverly Hills Cop)
9. Weird Science (Weird Science)
10. Dead Man's Party (Back to School)
11. Not My Slave (Something Wild)
12. Home Again (Wisdom)

Rock Star (2001)

This movie features Mark Whalberg as a wannabe rock star who gets his big shot at fame with an 80s group called Steel Dragon. The soundtrack features a mix of actual 80s hits and songs created especially for the film. Marky Marky surprisingly did not sing his own vocals - they were provided by Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart and Jeff Scott Soto. It's sort of a mix of 80's & 90's rock. Tracks:
1. Everclear - Rock Star
2. Steel Dragon - Livin' the Life
3. Motley Crue - Wild Side
4. Steel Dragon - We All Die Young
5. Steel Dragon - Blood Pollution

10. KISS - Lick It Up
